Now open: Tokyo Metropolitan University Scholarships 2027-28 in Japan, run by Tokyo Metropolitan University for Master’s and PhD Degrees applicants, offered on a fully funded basis. The deadline to apply is 10 October 2026.

Coverage & Financial Benefits

• A monthly stipend of 150,000 JPY will be awarded to recipients of this scholarship during their stay at Tokyo Metropolitan University.
• The admission fee for the successful applicants will be provided by the university.
• A full tuition fee waiver will be provided.
• A return air ticket from the homeland to Japan and from Japan to the homeland.

Requirements & Eligibility

• To apply for a master’s degree, applicants must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program.
• To apply for a PhD degree, students must be enrolled in a master’s degree program.
• To apply for a bachelor’s or master’s degree program at TMU, applicants must be admitted to a partner institution.
• A minimum GPA of 2.3 or above is required to be eligible for this scholarship.
• The age limit for the master’s degree program is 22 years, while for the PhD program, it is 24 years.
• The Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level (JLPT) N2 or higher is required.
• Applicants working in a governmental organisation or a research institution located in Tokyo’s sister cities or any other asian country are eligible to apply.
• Applicants pursuing master’s or bachelor’s degrees from a higher education institution in the sister cities of Japan can also apply.
