Requirements & Eligibility

  • Be permanent citizens of their home nation. (Stipends are not available to Indian NRIs or POIs.)
  • Applicants to Bachelor’s degrees must have completed Grade 12 with a grade point average of 80 per cent or above.
  • Applicants for Master’s programs must have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a CGPA of 75 per cent or above.
  • PhD applicants must have earned a Master’s degree in a related field of study.
  • Possess a solid command of the English language (IELTS score of 6.5 or above, or any other English language certification, such as the TOEFL or equivalent) (native English speakers and students who have completed an English language degree are excluded).

Required Documents

One current image and an application form.

Copies of high school diplomas or university degrees that have been certified.
Certifications prove that an applicant doesn’t speak English as a first language.
English proficiency in accordance with the aforementioned standards is required.
A pair of endorsement letters. There must be one (1) letter of recommendation from the embassy of their nation or another educational authority.
The candidate must have a current health certificate attesting to their immunity from contagious diseases.
A copy of a valid passport is required.
A 1500-word paragraph on the topic “What benefits do I hope to gain from studying in India?”
The language of all documents must be English or must be translated into English.
The only original papers that can be submitted are certified copies. Application files that are incomplete, incorrect, or illegible will not be considered.
