NHR Scholarships in Germany for 2027-28 | Free Study in Germany

Overview

Germany's NHR (National High Performance Computing) alliance funds up to 36 months of PhD study at a €2,200 monthly stipend, including a six-month secondment to research outside your chosen focus at another NHR centre, structured training workshops, and career coaching alongside the research itself. It's open to master's graduates in computer science, engineering, mathematics or a related field. Applications close 15 September 2026.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Applicants of all genders and backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply for a PhD scholarship at NHR.
• Students who have completed their master’s degrees in the fields of computer science, engineering, natural sciences, mathematics, or any other field can apply.
• All the admission requirements for PhD studies of the respective NHR Centre must be fulfilled by the candidates.
• Also, the additional acceptance requirements mentioned in the subject-specific doctoral regulations must be fulfilled.
