About Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (UK)

Commonwealth Shared Scholarships are funded jointly by the UK government's Commonwealth Scholarship Commission and a participating UK university, aimed specifically at students from least-developed and lower-income Commonwealth countries who wouldn't otherwise be able to study in the UK. Unlike some other Commonwealth Scholarship categories, Shared Scholarships fund taught master's study and are restricted to a specific list of eligible courses and partner universities that changes each year.

• For the students studying at universities in the London Metropolitan area, the Monthly Stipend is £1,781.

• Child allowance of £313 per month and £154 per month for a second or third child under the age of 16 years.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Candidates belonging to Commonwealth countries or who have been given refugee status by any of the Commonwealth countries are eligible.
• The candidates of British Protected Persons can apply.
• The candidate must have an honours degree.
• The candidate must have a relevant Master’s degree.
• The candidate can study in the UK starting from September 2027.
• The candidate must not have studied for one academic year in the UK or any other high-income country.
• The candidate is ineligible to study at a UK university without a Commonwealth grant.
