About U.S. Department of State

EducationUSA is a U.S. Department of State network of over 400 international student advising centers worldwide, providing free, official guidance to students in other countries who are interested in studying at accredited U.S. institutions. Because it's a government-run advising network rather than a commercial agency, it doesn't charge fees or take a placement commission, and its advisors are specifically trained not to favor any particular U.S. institution.
