Studielink — Dutch University Applications
Overview
Studielink is the national portal every applicant uses to enroll at a Dutch research university or university of applied sciences. Most numerus fixus (capped) programmes require registration by 15 January; the general enrolment deadline for most other bachelor's programmes is 1 May.
About Studielink
Studielink is the Dutch government's shared national application portal, used to apply to nearly every degree programme at Dutch universities and universities of applied sciences — a single account lets you apply to multiple institutions and programmes rather than using each university's own separate system.
Coverage & Financial Benefits
- Self-funded (loans and scholarships vary by institution)
Requirements & Eligibility
- Secondary education qualifying for higher education in your home country
- Proof of Dutch or English proficiency depending on the programme
- DigiD or equivalent verification for non-EU applicants varies by institution
Required Documents
How to Apply
- 1Create a DigiD or non-Dutch equivalent account and register on Studielink.
- 2Add your chosen study programme(s) and institution(s) through the Studielink portal before the relevant deadline.
- 3Complete any additional application steps the specific university requires directly with that institution, since Studielink handles the initial registration but not every university's full admissions process.
